Absolutely. Running Scared is about the experience not your personal best time. In actual fact Running Scared is not timed. Walk, run, crawl - it is about having fun, dressing up and celebrating Halloween with friends and family.
Thanks for your interest in volunteering - our volunteer roles are now full. Hopefully, we see you next year!

Running Scared is not a timed run. If you want a finish time we suggest you self-time. However, please keep in mind that Running Scared is a night time run and for safety reasons we don’t suggest you go for a personal best time!. Plus you don’t want to miss out on the on course scare content!
No. For the safety of participants and our furry friends, we don’t allow animals on the course or in the Monster Dance Party! We are considering a child and pet friendly event, so keep an eye out and we’ll announce if this is proceeding closer to the event date.

The health and safety of our participants, volunteers and employees is always our top priority, as with any recreational activity there is always an element of risk, which makes it exciting. The management team have taken steps to ensure all activities and the course have been scrutinised and are safe, with no more risk than a ghost train at the local fair, yet still allow for an entertaining event. Participants are advised to prepare themselves physically to make the 5km distance either running or walking.
Unfortunately due to the scary nature of this run, it is not suitable for children under 15 years of age.
Definitely not! There are plenty of great 5km runs in the market that test fitness and speed. Running Scared is a night experience run which is untimed and non-competitive, full of fear, fun and best experienced with friends and family.
